Mini Review - The Evolution of Thanh Hà Vol.1

I'm not sure why Thanh Hà named her new album The Evolution of Thanh Hà Vol.1 because the musical direction and songs choices did not evolve enough if at all to warrant the use of the word "evolution". The songs list is the same as most of her other albums, a handful of translated songs, some old songs, an "exclusive" song or two. The only thing new here is the arrangements which is good in a way.

I'm not sure what's going on with the cover. She wore an all black ensembles of thigh-high boots, skintight bodysuit with sheer panels and matching fingerless opera length gloves with two belts. I'm convinced that the belt she wore actually spelled d.e.s.p.e.r.a.t.i.o.n instead of her name.

Verdict - If you must have this CD, buy it on sale.

Trying Very Hard Not To Be Jealous Of Ngô Thanh Vân ...

And I failed! Normally I care very little about Ngô Thanh Vân who I think it's very lucky to have the amount of fame that she does simply because she's average in everything. She's just barely adequate as a model, singer, actress, etc... Shacked up with Johnny Trí Nguyễn a while back was definitely a shrewd move careerwise despite the nasty fallout in the court of public opinions, the disintegration of Johnny Trí Nguyễn's marriage and accusations of home wrecking but I'm not going to get into that because I am insanely jealous that she get to meet Gary Oldman, who is still the definition of sex on a stick BTW.

I'm still shell-shocked after seeing the unholy combination of hot pink satin romper with side skirt?, leopard print corset, not one but TWO pairs of knee socks worn with tan cowboy boots. 

This get-up was not a good idea.

Trina Bảo Trân Is Such A Talented Singer!

Trina Bảo Châu made plenty of singers that I thought were mediocre sounds good. You can tell that she probably learned how to sing in Vietnamese phonetically because she sing with no emotions whatsoever and her atrocious Vietnamese pronunciations make her singing even worse if possible. Her stage presence consist of walking back and forth, strange hand gestures, touching random part of her upper body, twisting her hair, scrunching up her face, purse her trout pout at the camera then rinse and repeat for other performances.

Trina Bảo Trân have the rare gift of being able to butcher every single song that she sing, if that is not real talent then I don't know what is. Her singing left me thinking that being deaf might not be so bad after all. I'm only going to post one video of her singing below, I don't want to post more for fear that someone will accuse me of torturing my readers. There are more music videos of her demonstrating that being a singer in the Vietnamese entertainment industry have absolutely nothing to do with talent or ability to actually speak the language but you will have to search for them yourself because I don't want you to hate me or worse sending me a CD of all her songs!

Here we are, the Louis Vuitton portion of Việt celebs and their bags. I'm posting pictures of bags in Vernis leather first because the Vernis leather line is the only line I like from Louis Vuitton. The Vernis line come in many different colors (though a lot colors had been discontinued), they are less conspicuous than the usual brown Louis Vuitton brown monogram and they also cost a lot more.

Hoàng Anh Accused Hồng Ánh Of Stealing Her (ex)husband Huy Khánh

I hate when women used the terms "husband stealing" or "homewrecker" because it's easier to lash out at the "other woman" rather than admit that their marriage is beyond repair or their husband is a dog or they're not a walk in the part to live with. Anyway, recently there was a posting on facebook by Hoàng Anh (she's famous by association only) that caused a stir in the Vietnamese entertainment world. She accused some actress by the name of Hồng Ánh of stealing her now ex-husband Huy Khánh who is a model turned actor.

She knowingly married a rake (no, not the garden tool) with questionable behavior and a semi well documented history of philandering then she complained endlessly to anyone that will listen about how her ex-husband was not faithful to her. This have potential to be funny if not for the fact that there are three children involved, they might be reading how their mother badmouthed their father on facebook of all place in a few years, poor kids.

Unfornately for us gossip addicts, the targets of her accusations are not responding to her allegation so there will no catfights, no tearful interviews, nothing at all so boo!

Việt Celebs And Their Balenciaga Bags

Bảo Hân and Như Loan carried their Balenciaga Giant Weekender bags in the first three pictures. I believe the bags in the fourth picture are the Balenciaga City Bag since I couldn't get a good look at them. These bags are expensive, the cheapest one with set you back about $1,300. They are not popular with the celebs crowd in Việt Nam probably because they are low-key and more understated than say Louis Vuitton bags.

Hồng Ngọc figured that since her eyebrows cannot compete with Phi Thanh Vân's top ten things of beauty eyebrows so she went ahead to try to take the crown in the fashion disasters section instead. She decided that it was a good idea to wear a sheer white layered not-long-enough-to-be-call-a-dress worn with what look like red bike short underneath. She proceeded to accessorize with two dueling logos of the Gucci scarf and the giant LV on the belt. She rounded out her look with a weird bun on her head and assorted bracelets, watch and rings.

A Laughably Bad Rendition Of Cỏ Úa

The performance below is the definition of trying too hard. Thanh Hà and Quang Lê scrunched up their faces as if it's hurt them to sing, they overacted for a mediocre song. It's actually so bad that it's quite hilarious to watch but I still lost a little over two minutes of my life.

I saw some pictures of Như Quỳnh's husband (his name is Nguyễn Thắng) and I thought that he look like someone. He look like Steven Mai who used to be a singer years ago.

The Exquisite Eyebrows Of Phi Thanh Vân

Phi Thanh Vân is this perpetually tanned model/actress that publicly admitted that she had had plastic surgeries. Her plastic surgeries are passable I guess but she ought to take a look at her eyebrows situation because they are scaring me, little children and possibly other people too. Below are pictures of some Việt beauties that owns a Hermès Birkin bag, that club is quite exclusive because anything Hermès cost significantly more than other designer brands. The Birkin bag is the ultimate status symbol and some might say snobbery hence it is also known as a "snobject".
