STOP trying to make McDonald's happen!

So the first McDonald's store (yuk!) in Việt Nam will open its doors tomorrow in Sài Gòn. I'd seen these hipsters there posting pictures of the junks that they get at the store acting all special because they get to sample the foods first. Seriously, it's McDonald's, possibly one of the worse if not the worse fast food chains so hipsters in Việt Nam please STOP trying to make McDonald's happen because it is wrong on so many levels and the last things people in Việt Nam need is another contributing factors to an obesity epidemic! There is no way I will trade super tasty bánh mì for burgers from McDonald's, NO WAY! 

Rant over... sort of.

Why?

The Backstreet Boys were in Việt Nam last week for two concerts, one in Sài Gòn on Thursday, March 24th then another one in Hà Nội on Saturday, March 26th and everyone gone crazy for them. The media there breathlessly reported their every move and apparently most if not all the who's who of the local celebrities were at the concert. Why? The Backstreet Boys have not been famous or cute for that matter for the past few years. It's boggle the mind about the level of excitements among the locals that they generated.
